The all-ceramic crown has a core of alumina or zirconia *. It is designed without a metal frame and is covered with an aesthetic ceramic of the same color as that of the tooth.
Zirconia is a material that can withstand wear and time and its transparency is similar to that of the natural tooth.
Specificities :
- Very high biocompatibility: no metal related allergy, no interaction with other restorative materials
- Strength and stability in the long term
- Mechanical qualities important allowing the realization of unit crowns but also of bridges of small areas
- No visible transition at the edge of the gum (no greyish edges appearing at the base)
Its design and manufacture involve highly advanced processes using CAD / CAM (Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing).
The molding of your fingerprints is scanned to be transformed into digital data. This data is then sent to a CAD software allowing to visualize your fingerprints in 3D and to design the nucleus of the future crown.
These elements are then processed by a machine tool which mills a ceramic block to make the yoke of the crown.
Finally, the dental technician covers this base with a cosmetic ceramic in order to realize a tooth having the shape and the tint of your natural teeth.
* ZIRCONE: identity card
Zirconia is the common name for zirconium oxide. It is a biomaterial used, among other things, to replace metal in the realization of the infrastructures of ceramic crowns. Zirconia has established itself as the material of the future in all-ceramic restorations.
