Brest enlargement with PROSTHESIS

Breast hypoplasty defines an insufficiently developed breast volume in relation to the patient’s morphology. Hypoplasty Intervention can be practiced at any age after 17 years. At the Center of Cosmetic Surgery of the Indian Ocean, Plastic Surgeons work mainly with brands of international reputation, recognized for the quality of their products and their consistency in the results.

These new-generation breast implants are composed of a pre-filled envelope of cohesive silicone gel, that is in case of rupture of the implant whose probability is infinitesimal, the gel does not flow. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis, that is, with an exit the same day after a few hours of supervision. Apart from a feeling of tension, there is usually no severe pain to be feared. Analgesic treatment, prescribed for a few days, will avoid possible pain that is too pronounced, when the implants are of large volume or if they are placed behind the muscles. For those practicing a sport activity, five to ten days of interruption are advised and one to two months to resume.

The procedure allows an improvement in the volume and shape of the breast. New generation implants have made great strides in terms of strength and reliability. The notion of mandatory change beyond ten years is no longer justified with current prostheses. The presence of the implants does not detract from the usual medical supervision (gynecological follow-up and breast cancer screening).

Mammal augmentation

Mammary hypoplasia defines a breast volume insufficiently developed in relation to the morphology of the patient. Hypoplasia may exist from the start (small breasts since puberty) or appear secondarily after significant weight loss and more often as a result of pregnancy. The surgery of hypoplasia aims to increase the volume of the breast by the placement of a breast prosthesis (breast augmentation).

The intervention is performed under local or general anesthesia and lasts an average of 1 ½ hours. The incision is short, 4 to 6 cm and is located either under the areola, under the armpit or in the furrow under the mammary.

Operative suites: a dressing in the form of a bra is performed, the duration of the hospitalization is 24 to 48 hours in case of general anesthesia. A pain can exist for 3 to 4 days and will gradually diminish. Wearing a bra is not recommended for 3 to 4 weeks. The hyper sensitivity and decreased sensitivity of the nipple can be seen in the sequel.

The sensitivity becomes normal again gradually.

Complications are rare: a hematoma (collection of curdled blood).

Breast reduction

MAMMARY HYPERTROPHY (defines a breast volume too large)

The surgical intervention (breast reduction) aims to decrease the volume of the breasts, to correct thae ptosis (correction of the collapse of the breast) and thus solves the aesthetic and functional problem. This intervention can be carried out from the age of 17, in important forms. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts an average of 2.5 hours. This procedure leaves a scar dependent on hypertrophy and degree of ptosis (correction of breast subsidence). The role of the surgeon is of course to avoid any unnecessary scar.

Simple surgery, this procedure is a little or not painful, the dressing is removed after 48 hours and wearing a bra is advised night and day for 1 month. The breast then has a harmonious, symmetrical and natural curve. Exposure of scars to the sun is not recommended after surgery. The result is final in 6 to 12 months. Complications are rare:

  • A subcutaneous liquid collection, easy to digest.
  • Delayed healing, usually due to hematoma.
  • Small epidermal cysts in the scars are frequent and not serious.
  • A decrease in the sensitivity of the areola and nipple is usual and regresses in a few months.

Breast lift

Mastopexy: aging and collapse of the chest.

The surgical procedure is aimed at correcting the volume and shape of the breasts, the ptosis (correction of the collapse of the breast) and thus solves the aesthetic and functional problem. This intervention can be carried out from the age of 17, in important forms. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts an average of 2.5 hours. This procedure leaves a scar dependent on the hypertrophy and degree of ptosis (correction of breast subsidence). The role of the surgeon is of course to avoid any unnecessary scar.

Simple surgery, this procedure is not very painful, the dressing is removed after 48 hours and the wearing of a bra is advised night and day for 1 month.

Mammary asymmetry

An asymmetry of the shape, volume, position of the nipple or even of the breast under breast is extremely frequent and does not require correction even if one takes advantage of another intervention to symmetrize the breast. On the other hand, when there is a significant difference, whether congenital or acquired, this unattractive asymmetry is often a psychological burden on women. Different techniques exist: we can use the installation of breast prosthesis of different sizes, the reduction or the breast lift, or even the mixing of all these techniques to balance the curve and the volume of your chest. This intervention can be carried out from the age of 17, in important forms. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts an average of 2.5 hours. Depending on the case of correction, the use of a breast prosthesis or a reduction in order to balance the volume and the curve is used.

Round Implants and Anatomical (teardrop) implant

There are two types of implants: round implants and anatomical (teardrop) implants. Anatomical implants produce extremely natural-looking results as they have the intended shape of a breast, i.e. full in the lower area with a slight bulge on top. Today most breast implants used are silicone gel-filled. These are created, pre-shaped and sterilised in a laboratory and their flexibility is remarkable. They are the most cohesive implants, and as such the best option for breast augmentation.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is the abnormal development of breasts in men.

The surgical procedure is aimed at reducing the volume of the breasts, and thus solves the aesthetic problem.

According to the cases of correction there is recourse to the liposuction and in an exceptional way it will be practiced a breast reduction.

The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia and lasts an average of one hour.

Simple surgery, this procedure is of little or no pain, the dressing is removed after 48 hours.

The pectoral then regains a harmonious form. The result is final in 3 to 6 months.
